Last year, the Real Estate Council of Ontario (the regulatory body for real estate professionals in Ontario) initiated a search for members of a new committee to provide RECO with observations and advice related to existing or emerging issues in the real estate sector; identify potential enhancements in service delivery; and to provide input related to such other matters as the CEO may request from time to time.

RECO’s intention was to include a home inspector in the group, and I am pleased to announce that I have been selected as a member of the group.

Recruitment for RECO’s new CEO Advisory Group is now complete! We reviewed an overwhelming number of applications from registrants with passion for their profession and a desire to discuss on-the-ground real estate trends and offer feedback on RECO initiatives. Thank you to all who applied.

The 13 members selected to join the CEO Advisory Group represent a wide spectrum of professionals across the province, with variation in their region of work, their area of expertise, and their years of experience.

The Group also includes voices from outside of the real estate profession, with four non-registrant members: a home inspector, a mortgage broker, a real estate lawyer, and a consumer representative.

RECO looks forward to holding the first meeting in March.
