Ontario’s new regulator of new home builders, the Home Construction Regulatory Authority, took over the licensing of builders and vendors of new homes in the province. As part of the process, HCRA has implemented a Code of Ethics which sets out clear ethical standards that Ontario’s licensed home builders and vendors must meet.
Complaints regarding the conduct of Ontario builders or vendors may be referred to the HRCA Discipline Committee. This Committee hears and determines whether licensees have complied with the Code of Ethics. The Appeals Committee hears and determines appeals of determinations and/or orders from the Discipline Committee.
I was recently appointed to the HCRA Appeals Committee and currently serve as Vice-Chair of that Committee.
